James Taylor, Sr.

James Douglas Taylor, Sr., 79, husband to the late Mary Jane Taylor, passed away on Monday April 12, 2021, with his family by his side, at Norton Downtown.  He was born to the late Carlos and Eula (Rogers) Taylor in Broughtontown, Kentucky on April 1, 1942.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Taylor.

Jim was retired from General Electric.

He is survived by his children, Dana Tribble (Bruce), Jim Taylor, Jr. (Carrie),  Laura Newton (Bruce), stepsons, Eddie (Lorie) and Matt Johnson along with 9 grandchildren; Erin Logan, Curtis Johnson, Megan Newton, Mitchell Taylor, Chais Taylor, Thomas Newton, Blake Johnson, Whitney Abell, and Zach Johnson, a great-grandson; Colton Abell and brothers, Bill, and David Taylor.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Visitation will be Thursday from 2-7 pm at the funeral home.

Due to COVID restrictions masks are to be worn at all times and social distancing is expected.
