James "Jimmy" Ashby, Jr

James “Jimmy” William Ashby, Jr., 55, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 4, 2022.  He was born on May 31, 1967, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James Sr. and Nancy (Garriott) Ashby.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his Aunt Margie Ashby.

Left to cherish the memories of Jimmy’s life is his loving wife, Shannon Ashby; his siblings, Christopher Ashby (Lisa) and Louis Ashby (Whitney); his caregivers, Kathy, Linda and Elaine; along with his beloved fur babies, Poo, Bella, Daisy and Beans.

Jimmy was a very involved member of Ormsby Heights Baptist Church and loved his Lord, Jesus Christ.  Jimmy served his community for many years on the Lake Dreamland Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer.  In his younger days he earned the honor of being an Eagle Scout.  Jimmy enjoyed the outdoors and going to the farm to cut grass and had an immeasurable love for animals.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 6PM at Ormsby Heights Baptist Church, 2120 Lower Hunters Trace.
