Jeanne Marie (Weed) Bond | Visit Guest Book
BOND, JEANNE MARIE (WEED), 69 of Louisville, joined her 3-year-old granddaughter Kathryn Ann Marie Bond and her parents, Ira and Pauline (Brown) Weed Sr. in the home of our heavenly father.
She obtained a BA from Spalding University and an MA from Bellarmine University, both in education.
Jeanne earned numerous academic accolades and many heartfelt letters of appreciation from parents and students alike. She was a difference maker. She affected the lives of her family, friends, colleagues and students through her infectious smile and love for all people. She loved teaching so much that she spent the last 3 years doing dialysis at home for countless mid-AM hours, so that she could teach children in the classroom and adult bible studies. Through tremendous pain, she persisted....to teach. That determination imparted lessons to her students that they will pass down to their children creating a lasting impression on our community.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons, Robert Bond Jr. (Victoria) and Bryan Bond (Marianne); three grandchildren, Austin, Britney and Breanne Bond; two infant great-grandchildren, Trey and Mackenzie; brother, Ira Weed Jr. (Pam); sister, Winona McDaniels; sister-in-law, Margie Bond; and ex-husband Robert Bond Sr.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Incarnation Catholic Church , 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Wednesday, 1 - 8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
Jeanne's grandson, Robert Austin Bond collects money annually for the Crusade for Children in memory of his 3 year-old-sister, Kathryn. Jeanne's special education students benefited directly from crusade funding. This powerful combination of motivation, led her to be an active participant in Austin's fund raising efforts. We request that donations be made to the Crusade for Children in memory of Jeanne Bond. C/O Austin Bond P.O. Box 933 Peewee Valley, KY 40056.
Jeanne received loving support from Hosparus of Louisville.
