Jearl Newsome

Newsome, Jearl A.,78, of Louisville passed away June 20, 2015 at Baptist Health Louisville. She was born on February 19, 1937 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Arlin and Clara Johnson. She was a member of the Highview Baptist Church and retired from the Jefferson County Public School System. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Douglas Johnson, Janice Switzer and Randy Johnson.She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jonas Newsome; daughter, Sherry Lynn Newsome; a brother, Roger Johnson (Julie); and a sister, Jeri Johnson.A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Thursday, June 25, 2015 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday at the funeral home.
