Jerold Maier

Jerold Maier, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away, August 13th, 2023, just 4 days away from his 90th birthday.  Jerry lost his father at the age of 6, after which he and his 3 older brothers were placed in an orphanage home. He joined the Army at 17. Had many odd jobs, retired from Reynolds Aluminum after 13 years, started his own asphalt business, and owned rental properties with his friend Skids. In his younger days, he loved to run, bike, and travel. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 220, where he put a lot of time, money, and labor into the post. He was a very generous man who gave from his heart.  

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, William and Alvina Maier, and brothers William, Donald, and Ralph Maier. 

Jerry was loved and will be greatly missed. He lives behind his longtime friend and caretaker, Pat Stevenson; lifelong friend, Debbie Hicks Mailback; and many close friends, too numerous to mention. He loved them all. 

Jerry’s life celebration will be at the American Legion Post 220, Sunday, September 24^th, at 2:00pm. Food will be provided.
