HUNTER, JEWEL BRYARS, 90, of Louisville, died January 31, 2013.

Along with her late husband, Warren, she cofounded the Friendship Club at the former Beechmont United Methodist Church. Warren preceded her in death in 2007. She was a member of the former Gateway Community United Methodist Church.

Jewel is survived by her daughters, Marsha Jean (Rick) Nash and Marilyn Ann (Allen) Canterbury; six granddaughters; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Dotty Davis. Jewel was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lt. Frank K. McMillian, a casualty of World War II.

The family is being served by Neurath & Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market St. A private memorial will be held at later date.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the donor's preference.
