DALEURE, JOAN, 87, of Shively, passed away August 14, 2011.
She was the former Joan Jenkins.
She was employed as an executive secretary at Reynolds Metals until the birth of her first child, when she became a full-time homemaker, raising her children and volunteering for many school, church and charitable activities. She was a member of Mosaic United Methodist Church.
She was an intelligent, personable and selfless person, who was loved by the many friends and family with whom she enjoyed life. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Daleure Sr., to whom she was married for 63 years; and her parents, Mose and Josephine Jenkins.
She is survived by her children, Gus Skip Daleure Jr. (Kim) and Greg Daleure (Patti); her grandchildren, Mackenzie Daleure, Chrystal Jones, Anthony Cooper and Kelly Daleure; her sisters, Katy (Cass) Graham, Jean Dougherty, Edith Ford, Rachel Scott (Sylvan), Mazie Rosenbarger; and her brother, John Jenkins (Marjorie).
Services were handled by Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A private memorial with the family was held and burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
