NELSON, JOEL WAYNE, 65 , passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at LaGrange, KY. He was born November 14, 1941 in Paris, TX. He was the son of the late Upton Lloyd Nelson and Gladys (Thompson) Nelson of Texas. He attended Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX where he was a music major and business minor. He moved to Prospect, KY in 1986. He was employed by Thomas Industries Lighting as a regional manager. He purchased Closet Concepts in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Nelson; two sons, Greg Weatherman (Marcia) of Washington D.C. and Anthony Weatherman (Marsha) of Louisville; two grandsons, Michael Welsh and Greg Welsh; a brother, Harold Lloyd Nelson of Austin, TX; an aunt and three uncles of Ft. Worth, TX; one aunt of San Bernardo, CA. His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Community Church, 14001 Shelbyville road, Louisville, KY. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, KY. Visitation: is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Services under the direction of Neurath- Underwood Funeral Home.
