He was the son of Thomas F. and Lena D. Hawkins.
He was a native of Harrodsburg, KY, he retired from Brown Forman where he was production manager of Bols Liqueurs, World War II Army Air Force veteran, a graduate of University of Louisville, an elder and member of Fourth Presbyterian Church and an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sybil Hawkins, siblings Joe Hawkins, Mary Allen Shelburne, Lee Van Hawkins and Nora Shouse.
Survivors include one daughter Carolyn Hawkins, son Steven Hawkins (Elizabeth), two grandchildren Eric (Katheryn) and Matthew Hawkins (Jennifer), and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service: 9 a.m. Saturday, Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd, with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Friday.
