SPURLIN, JOHN S., 58, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 27, 2012. He was an employee of The Kroger Company and a tradesman carpenter. He was a 1971 graduate of DeSales High School and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his mother, Ida C. Spurlin, and his sister, Nellie Spurlin Buehler.
He is survived by his loving family, wife, Joan Hartung Spurlin; daughters, Lindsay Galey (Eric) and Carrie Parker (Ben), of Chicago, IL; and son, Adam Spurlin; his father, S. C. Spurlin; his sisters, Cathy Schaffer (Rod), Carrie Bibelhauser, Edna Spurlin and Effie S. Hall, of Charlotte, NC; many nieces, nephews, extended family and uncountable friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held noon Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Dr., Louisville, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens. John's family invites you to celebrate his life from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., Louisville.
