John Vogel

John W. Vogel Share E-mail Visit Guest Book VOGEL, JOHN W., 87, passed away Friday , August 7, 2009 at Park Terrace Health Campus.
He was born in Louisville to John and Julia (Albert) Vogel.
He was a retired engineers technician at Naval Ordnance with 30 years service.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a 57-yr. member of American Legion Dixie Post # 220, and a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 62 years, Dorothy K. (Garthwaite) Vogel; and three sisters, Clara Mae Wolfe, Thelma Tellman and Marie Baumgardner.
Survivors include his children, Gary W. Vogel (Jackie) and Mary Ann Kessinger (Pat); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvyn Vogel and Albert "Al" Vogel; and one sister, Irma Waller.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Monday, 2 - 9 PM.
