Jon Mivelaz

MIVELAZ, JON C., 70, passed away on February 7, 2014. He was a retired operation supervisor for MSD where he worked for 30 years; attended Valley View Church, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Jon loved the Lord. He loved to fish, hunt, tell tall tales, and give advice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mivelaz. Survivors include his daughter, Lia Barrere (Bryan), grandsons, Andrew and Blake all of Texas; brothers, William F. Mivelaz, Jr. (Audrey), David Mivelaz (Betty) and James E. Mivelaz, Sr. (Helen); his sister, Rosemary Denison (Russell); three nieces, Janis, Connie, and loving caregiver, Toni; and three nephews, Scotty, Rusty and Jimmie. He also leaves behind many loving friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be 1p.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
