BRAY, JOSEPH W. "JOE," 88, (Family Man) went to be with the Lord on October 30, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was a member of the ever-diminishing group of America's Greatest Generation as a proud Army veteran of World War II. He was a founding member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church and St. Peter and Apostle Catholic Church. He made Louisville's Men Cursillo #21 and was very active with various clubs and activities at his church.
He was preceded in death by Libby Bray, his loving wife of 55 years; his daughter, Marie; stepson, Bobby Chesser; and six brothers.
He is survived by three children, Judy Long (Mike) of Harrisonburg, VA, Cathy Reising (Jerry) and Ed Bray (Jeanne) of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Tony, David (Lucy) and Ralph (Anna Lee) Bray.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Columbine site with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
