CARTER, JOSEPH OWEN "BUSTER," 87, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He began his life on October 21, 1925 in Louisville, KY, the youngest of eight children.
On April 12, 1947, he married the love of his life, Rose Catherine Becker. They began a beautiful family, consisting of five sons and one daughter Joseph, David, Deborah, Richard, Michael and Mark. Joe is the beloved grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
After proudly serving in the US Navy during World War II, he was a valued and dedicated employee at Pochel-Chowning, from which he retired. He was a member of the former St. Clement Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, an adored father and grandfather, a well-respected colleague and cherished friend. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; and his beloved wife, Rose.
His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Hwy., followed by entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy.
