Joseph Wheatley

Joseph Wheatley WHEATLEY, JOSEPH, 86, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 15, 2010.
Mr. Wheatley was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company where he was a member of the union. He was a member of City Road Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Whitehouse Wheatley; his five stepchildren, Eddie (Ginger), Steve, Jerry (Ted), and Carl (Diane) Whitehouse and Marylou Moore (Joe); 27 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, Joanna Gatlin (John) and Peggy Binder (Ken); and many other family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Sunday from noon-8 p.m.
