McCAIN, JULIA PAULINE, 96, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at her home.
She was a retired jeweler for Merkley Kendrick Jewelers. She was the first registered female gemologist in Kentucky. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and its Altar Society and American Gem Society.
She is survived by her sister, Genevieve McCain.
Her funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Church, 2914 S. 3rd St. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hosparus.
