STONE, JULIUS COWEN "JAY," JR., 88, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the VA Medical Center.
He was a self employed photographer, a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, an Army Veteran of World War II, and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Stone; son, Carlisle F. Stone; step-son, Herman Silverstein; and a grandson, Timothy Silverstein.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Alice Charlson of Beavercreek, OR; step-son, Gene Smith of West Point, KY; grandson, Brian Silverstein (Jennifer); granddaughters, Marita Rivas (Salvador) and Dawn Walker (Chris); and a grandson, Sean Silverstein (Rhonda).
His Celebration of Life Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at his church, 7335 Southside Drive with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Joseph E. Ratterman and Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Drive.
Expressions of sympathy should be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
