MALICK, KAREM, 84, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013. He was born December 1, 1928. He was a retired Sgt. of the Louisville Fire Dept., and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norman and Michael Malick; and sisters, Mary Buchanan and Jeanette Malick. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Malick; son, John Malick (Teresa); and daughter, Patti Milam. He is also survived by six grandsons, John Benfield III (Rachel), Brian Benfield (Amanda), Greg Benfield (Stefanie), Chris Milam, Jamie Tarrence (Rene), and Jason Tarrence (Heather); as well as 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons. 2114 W. Market St., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday.
