He retired from the Smutz Foundry where he worked as a machinist. Karl was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Auguste A. Ebert; brother, Josef V. Ebert; and sister, Anna E. Newcom.
He is survived by his brother-in law, James C. Newcom; nieces, Helen Breslin (Tim), Lucia McGuffin (Bruce), Marilyn Newton, Carolyn Baisas (Dominic) and Mary Ann Hannah (Steve); nephews, James K. Newcom and Gary Newcom (Sondra); and many great-nieces, great-nephews and beloved friends.
Funeral services celebrating Karl's life will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Visitation for family and friends will be 12 noon -8 p.m. Monday prior to services.
