Fischer, Kenneth E. "Joe",
87, of West Point, KY, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Jewish Hospital.
He had worked as an auto mechanic for many years, but his true life's work was as an inventor, for which he holds patents on aviation and electronics technologies. He was also an Army Air Corps veteran of the Korean conflict.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Louise Harkcom Fischer; a son, Kenneth Jay Fischer; a grandson, James Le Hall; and a sister, Barbara Dunavant.
Survivors include his children Joy Hall (Jim), Norman Fischer (Julie), and Robert Fischer; a sister, Dixie Palivoda (Dan); grandchildren, Marie, Michelle, Chris, and David; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Nick, Beth, Liam, Sara, Tess, and Cam.
His funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the service Tuesday.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or Jewish Hospital, Louisville.
