GIBERSON, LAURA JEAN (STINSON), 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2011.
Laura was born November 2, 1932 in Caneyville, KY to the late Van Buren and Eunice (Mudd) Stinson. She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company (BellSouth), where she was employed for 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by two brothers, Forest Stinson and Howard Stinson; four sisters, Dorthene Bagford, Edith Stratton, Anna Thomas and Inez Hayse.
Laura was a kind and gentle woman, a devoted military wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Giberson; two sons, Stephen Michael Giberson and John Alan Giberson; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Giberson; three grandchildren, Stephanie Vaught, Kelly Giberson and Shaun Giberson; four great-grandchildren; sister, Sammie L. Schellinger (Art) of Evergreen, CO; many loving nieces and nephews, including two special nieces and a nephew, Linda Snawder, Carolin Washburn and Wayne Shaw, who were always there for her; and many close friends.
Her funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ratterman's.
