Kurk, Laurene H. View/Sign Guest Book KURK, LAURENE H., 87, of Louisville, passed away Friday, May 16, 2008, at her residence. She was a retired assembler for G.E. Appliance Park, a former baker's assistant for the Old Donaldson Bakery, in Louisville and a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Kurk; and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Childers. She is survived by her sons, James and Earl Bramblett; daughters, Joyce J. Hodges, Janet S. Carpenter, Patricia Clark, Connie Montgomery and Debbie Peabody; sister, Alice Hawkins; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Laurene Kurk's life will be held noon Tuesday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son's Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with entombment to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held noon - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
