Abell, Lawrence "Joe" View/Sign Guest Book ABELL, LAWRENCE "JOE," 75, loving husband of the late Rachael Lucy Abell, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008. Born in Louisville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Pearl Abell. He was Catholic by faith. He was 1951 graduate Flaget High School. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member and former commander of the American Legion Post 220. He had retired General Electric Supply Co. after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a prestigious member of the Cloverleaf Green Door Men's Club. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by his loving daughters, Lori Murray (Tom) and Lisa Davis (John); grandchildren, Aaron, Joseph, Jonathan, Alisha and Jessica; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a brother, Gene Abell. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 11 am-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion Post 220.
