Leah E. Blankenship Share E-mail Visit Guest Book NEW ALBANY BLANKENSHIP, LEAH E., 90, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Autumn Woods Health Campus.
She was born on April 7, 1919 in Mulberry, KS to the late James and Ruth McGonigle Edds. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Albany.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan E. Blankenship Sr; and six siblings, Irene Drummond, Nadine Wilder, Nellie Gould, Nathan Edds, Wilma Edds and Charles Edds.
She is survived by two sons, Ivan E. "Gene" Blankenship Jr. (Evelyn) , Georgetown, IN, Mark Blankenship (Mary), Georgetown, IN, one daughter, Connie Kemple, New Albany, IN; seven grandchildren, Kelly Pyzocha (Joe), Tracy Markert (James), Lori Ruscoe (Geoff), Todd Blankenship (Jenny), Jennifer Estes (Scott), Kristy Edwards and Jonathan Kemple; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Molly Markert, Nora Ruscoe and Ella Pyzocha; two sisters-in-Law; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook-Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. Interment will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the Market St. Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to the Alzheimer's Association .
