Leroy Clifford, 87, of Smithfield, died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at Baptist Hospital Northeast in La Grange.
He was a farmer and a former board member of Southern States, National Farmers Organization and an active member of the old ASCS and a deacon at Covington Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Wayne Clifford.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mildred Cecil Clifford; two sons, Darrell and Mike Clifford; a daughter, Faye (Buddy) Mobley; a brother, Kenneth Clifford; a sister, Thelma Powell; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Wednesday at Arch L. Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in La Grange, with the Rev. Nick Coleman officiating.
Burial took place at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
Pallbearers were Troy Patterson, Tony Patterson, Michael Clifford, Paul Clifford, Wayne Sweat and Freddy Cuzick. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Bodkins, John Blankenship, L.V. Abbott, Kenny White, Mike Roberts and Doug Wingert.
