Suratt, Lila Orena View/Sign Guest Book SURATT, LILA ORENA, 82, of South Louisville, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Jewish Hospital. She was the former Lila Orena Higginbotham. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, a former Sunday school teacher, a former dietary supervisor at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth and a 50 plus year member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Suratt; and a son, Ralph Suratt. She is survived by a daughter, Thelma Hughes; a son, James T. Suratt; sisters, Ida Austin and Marie Harrington; a brother, Thomas Higginbotham; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mrs. Suratt's life will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts may be made to Kentucky New Horizons.
