Linda Burkhead

Burkhead, Linda Gay (Meredith)-Age-77
Passed away November 2, 2018 after years of illness.  Born in 1941, she was a 1959 graduate of Butler High School. Linda was a life-time member of Chapel Park Baptist Church, where as a young lady she was saved and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  Marrying her childhood sweetheart Joseph Burkhead at the age of twenty.  They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on October 13, 2018.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents Harvey & Elizabeth Meredith, brother, James Thomas Meredith Sr., sisters Martha Rose, Mary Louise.  Linda is survived by her husband Joseph Tracey Burkhead, daughters Robin Sue Strobel (Mark) and Kelley Jean Evans, Sisters, Norma Jean Miles, and Elizabeth Gayle Machado.  Linda also has two granddaughters, Paige Nichelle Coogle, Tiffany Lynn Coogle, three grandsons, Tanner Joseph Wright, Alexander Cole Wright, and Conner Vincent Cecil.  She has three great grandchildren, Nation Ali Evans, Riley Grace Carroll & Aniya Nekole Evans.  Linda loved her family and was a loving and caring person for her family.  She will be missed and thought of often.  Linda will be laid to rest at Louisville Memorial Cemetery West in the section of The Old Rugged Cross.  The family would like to thank Norton Healthcare Pavillion, Dr. William Cheadle and staff at Norton hospital for the love and caring they express throughout the years.  We also wish to express our gratitude and love to Pam Boone that worked for Dr. Cheadle throughout Linda’s illness.  May God’s amazing blessing be on all of you. Her funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 am at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highwat.  Visitation for the family will be on Thursday at 1pm, public viewing 2-7 pm.
