Louise Hickerson

Hickerson, Lue Ella Denny View/Sign Guest Book HICKERSON, LUE ELLA DENNY, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Hospice inpatient unit at Norton Healthcare Pavilion in Louisville. Originally of Albany, KY, she was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College and the University of Louisville, where she earned a master's degree in education. She married Stanley Hickerson in 1947, who died in 2003. She worked as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years. Her retirement years were dedicated to continuing to teach as a substitute teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools and as a volunteer at the then Norton Southwest Hospital. She was an active member of the Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, David, of Union, Kentucky and Steve, of Washington, DC; her grandchildren, Mark, Susan, Trish and Lucy; and her sister, Ida Mae Farmer of Albany, KY. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to the family care of the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to her church or Lindsey Wilson College.
