Madeleine Gibson

Madeleine was born to Frank Lee and Mildred Heflin Gibson in Louisville, KY on May 8, 1939. Her younger brothers, Barry Gibson and Tony Gibson, preceded Madeleine in death.

Madeleine attended high school at Ahrens Trade School and majored in dressmaking.

Madeleine worked for Consolidated Sales Co., G.E.S., and several other retailers before beginning her career at General Electrical Company. She worked in the financial services division and retired in 2000. She continued to work part-time for General Electric until she was 70 years old.

Madeleine was a long-time member of the Al-Anon Family Groups. Her home group was the Saturday Morning Serenity Group. Madeleine served Al-Anon District 5, Area Assembly, on the AIS Board, and as a sponsor over her many years in Al-Anon.

Madeleine became a mother at age 18, a grandmother at age 40, and a great-grandmother at age 60. Madeleine's children are Michele Gaither, Dana Ross, and Greg Demaree.

Her grandchildren are Derrick Demaree, Andrea Gaither, Joshua Demaree, Joyce Demaree, Aaron Gaither, and Nicholas Ross.

The great-grandchildren are Andrew Napper, Marcus Gaither, Gregory Ruth, Claire Ruth, Jasmin Mudd, and Hannah Demaree.

Madeleine was also a stepmother to Michael Burton, Mikki McIntosh, Lee Burton, and Candy Cope.
