FORD, MARGIE C., 83, of Pleasure Ridge Park, KY passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011.

Margie Caroline Judd was born and spent her early childhood in Kyrock, KY, the child of a coal miner. After her father's death her family moved to Louisville where she attended Louisville Girl's High School. She married Henry Edsel 'Hank' Ford in 1948 with whom she had one son. Margie retired from Brown and Williamson (B&W) Tobacco Co. where she was a long time employee in their Maritime Insurance Department. Prior to B&W, she held a number of positions with Louisville firms including The Courier-Journal and Fawcette-Dearing (later Fawcette-Haynes) Printing Co. She spent the last three years of her life in treatment for Alzheimer's dementia.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Marcus Judd; and three sisters, Nellie, Lattie and Reatha.

Margie is survived by her son, Eric S. Ford and his wife Brenda, of Dayton OH; three grandchildren, Eric Ford Jr. (Ashley), Jennifer Gerber and Scott Ford (Jennifer); and seven great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews, including Brenda Hall, Larry Judd, John Jackson and Becky Morris.

Her funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA).
