Marion Lloyd "Speck" Mears, 91, husband of the late Aletha Gasaway Mears, died Friday March 28, 2014 at Emeritus Stone Creek Lodge.
He was born in Bullitt Co., Ky. June 29, 1922 the son of the late Chester & Ruby McAllister Mears. He was a World War II Veteran having served two enlistments in the U.S. Navy. He also had been a heavy equipment operator and union official with IUOI.
Survivors include his son, Greg Mears (Lee), sisters, Doris Hayes and Delores Turner, brother, Jim Mears, two granddaughters, Christy Rainey and Kelly Nowak. 5 great grandchildren and a very special great nephew, Donnie, also survive. He was preceded in death by 4 siblings.
