Marion Nichols

Marion "Herman" Nichols NICHOLS, MARION "HERMAN," 91, widower of Bertha (Cahill) Nichols and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a member of Beechland Baptist Church for over 65 years, where he had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
He was also a member of the Bluegrass Saddle Club. He retired from Dover Elevator Co. He was a proud member of the PRP area and enjoyed the many eateries and flea markets. Herman was a humble humanitarian that derived much joy for helping his neighbors.
He was the last remaining of eight children that were born to Tom and Betty Nichols in Grayson County, KY. Other than his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Carl T. Nichols.
He is survived by his children, Marion Rose Hahn and Ernest Ray Nichols (Murdayne); a brother-in-law, Carl Henry Cahill (Rachel); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Sunday.
