Mark Cox

November 4, 1961 — April 18, 2014

COX, MARK ANTHONY, 52, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father suddenly on Good Friday, April 18, 2014. Mark was born on November 4, 1961 in Brodhead, KY. He was the devoted pastor and shepherd of Highview Church of God. Mark had a godly calling on his life at an early age and has been devoted to Christian ministry for the past 25 years. Mark placed his faith in and dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who died on the cross so that we may have everlasting life. Mark had a loving and serving heart, which he displayed through visiting and praying with the sick, hurting and lost and a host of other acts of compassion. He touched countless lives through his Christian ministry. Mark was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and congregation, but we take solace in knowing he is in his heavenly home. Mark leaves behind his devoted wife of 34 years, Nannita (Boling) Cox; two daughters, Rebecca Cox and Amanda (Cox) Gomsak; son, Anthony Cox; mother, Pat Fordyce; grandchildren, Gavin Cox, Joshua Cox, Jonas Gomsak, Gabriel Gomsak, and Aubrey Cox; sister, Gina Hueston; brothers, E. Scott Cox and Shawn Cox; father- and mother-in-law, Roger and Phyllis Boling, daughter- and son-in-law, Kristina (Thomas) Cox and Mark Gomsak; and many loving brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Pace. The funeral and celebration of Mark's life will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Highview Church of God, 7017 S. Watterson Trail, Louisville, KY 40291. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2014, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Highview Church of God.
