FINERTY, MARTHA JEAN, 77, of Louisville, passed away December 11, 2012 at The University of Louisville Hospital.
She was a member of Shawnee Baptist Church.
December 11, 2012 at 6:25 p.m., the trumpet sounded in heaven. All the angels sang in praise for a true saint being welcomed into the kingdom. Through much trial and suffering this saint never waivered in her faith. She devoted her life to instilling that faith into her children, and grandchildren and great grandchildren. While she will be missed on this earth she is now rejoicing with those that preceeded her. She will always live on in our hearts and would never want us to lose the faith and compassion she bestowed upon us. Job well done She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Finerty; two sons, Michael P. Finerty I, and Mitchell Finerty; her parents, William and Cora Hert; a sister, Barbara (Susie) McCune; and three grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Janet Taylor, Karen Sanders (Jerry), Linda Fritz (Tom), and Nancy Dickens (Doug); sons, Marty Finerty (Robin) and Brian Finerty; brothers, Robert and Jack Hert; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
Her funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons, 2114 West Market St., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
