GROSS, MARTHA J. "MEME," 81, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side March 17, 2012.
Martha was a graduate of Columbia High School and a faithful member of Okolona Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mason and Myrtie (Willis) Smith and brothers Mason "Micky" Smith and Marshall Ray Smith.
Martha is survived by her loving husband of 57 years James H. Gross; children, Donna Cantwell (Michael), Dean Dennis (Don) and Danny Gross; stepson, Jerry Gross (Wilma); siblings, Maurice "Smitty" Smith (Billie), Marion "Derby" Smith, Marvin "Buck" Smith (Beverly), Marie "Pat" Bennett (Donnie), Marjorie "Margie" Burton, Margaret "Sarah" Tupman (Mitchell) and Mary "Shorty" Brockman (Oris); grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy and Jennifer Cantwell and Heather Kennedy (Michael) and Courtney Gross; step grandson, Jamie Gross and great-grandchildren, Preston Eason, Hadleigh Kennedy and one little blessing on the way. Martha was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A service honoring the life of Martha will be held Wednesday at noon at Evergreen Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to Okolona Church of Christ building fund or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
