METTS, MARTHA LUDIA MATHERLY, 90, of Pleasure Ridge Park, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011.
She was born on March 26, 1921 in Boones Hill, TN but lived most of her life in Louisville. She worked for 30 years at Reynolds Metals, retiring at age 55. Martha was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and she was a caring person who loved to cook for others and provide assistance to friends and relatives. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Metts Jr.; and sisters, Hildred Donovan and Christine Crane.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Matherly (Cindy); granddaughters, Lisa Polanski (Chris) and Abbi Wurth (Jon); and great-granddaughters, Bailey and Regan Wurth.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Evelyn Wright for helping Martha through the last few difficult months.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Thursday.
