Martin Flaherty

Flaherty Jr., Martin Patrick "Mike" FLAHERTY, MARTIN PATRICK "MIKE" JR., 83, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. He was a 1951 graduate of the Southern Police Institute, a member of the Shively Lions Club, and a member of the Sunset Masonic Lodge #915. He was a small business owner and a former partner of Hotel Liquors. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bonnie Robertson Flaherty; a son- in-law, Nick Boeger; and two sisters, Marie Ricketts and Nellie Smith. He is survived by daughters, Sharon Niemeier (Robert), Patti Cauley (Mark), Terri Slucher (Darris), and Janis Boeger; 12 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; nieces and a nephew; and his companion, Janice Lockard. His funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with entombment following at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. on Sunday. A special thanks to Dr. Bert Sparrow, the staff at the Wound Healing Center, and the third floor staff at Sts.
