Mary Arkenau

ARKENAU, MARY LOU (BURKHARDT), 75, went to meet her Heavenly Father on February 2, 2014. She worked for Jefferson County Public Schools Food Service for 30 years, had retired from American Tobacco Company, and had worked for the Candy House at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was a member of the Incarnation Catholic Church Senior Club. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years John; her parents, Henrietta and Anton Burkhardt; sister, Frances Johnson; and brother, Jim Burkhardt. She is survived by her siblings Lillian Priddy, Ed Burkhardt (Henrietta), Tom Burkhardt (Nina), and Al Burkhardt; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lower Hunters Trace, followed by entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
