BENNETT, MARY "LAVERNE" (WELLS), 91, of Louisville, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011.
She had worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield and was a member of Mary Queen of Peace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Willie" Bennett; daughter, Mary Carolyn Bloomer; granddaughter, Kelly Grasmick; great-grandson, Sean Bryson; sisters, Millie Higdon and Dorothy Wilson; and brothers, Albert and Nelson Wells.
She is survived by her children, Linda Leis (Nicholas), Janet Grasmick (John), Diane Goodin, W. Stephen Bennett, and Richard Bennett (Tessie); brother, Jack Wells; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Her service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mary Queen of Peace, (St. Denis Campus), 4205 Cane Run Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
