Mary Bruce

Bruce, Mary Elizabeth View/Sign Guest Book BRUCE, MARY ELIZABETH , 91, of Louisville, was raised in New Hope, KY, and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. A lover of horses, she worked at Churchill Downs for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hays Bruce; sons, Donald and William; and her lifelong friend, Manuel. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Scott, Linda Horton (Buck), and Rebecca Amburgey (Jim); 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Hillcreek Manor, Baptist Hospital East, and Palliative Care for all the kindness and care.
