Mary Childress

Childress, Mary Esther View/Sign Guest Book CHILDRESS, MARY ESTHER, 84, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was the owner/operator of Childress Grocery Store, a member of St. Denis Catholic Church for 40 years, and a member of the St. Denis Sewing Club. Mary's joy in life was gardening, feeding the birds and singing with her husband as he played the guitar. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Julia Boone; son, James D. Childress; brother, Joe Boone; and sister, Mary Boone. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert A. Childress; brothers, Earl, Herb and Leroy Boone; sister, Louise Brady; daughter-in-law, Brenda Childress; grandchildren, Sean and Kelly Childress. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Mary Queen of Peace (St. Denis) Catholic Church, 4205 Cane Run Road, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road. Published in The Courier-Journal on 3/18/2009
