Downing, Mary Cunningham View/Sign Guest Book DOWNING, MARY CUNNINGHAM, 94, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Masonic Home in Louisville. Mrs. Downing was a native of Louisville and moved to Danville, KY, with her husband Ray in 1942. She was employed by Sears Roebuck & Company as credit manager, retiring in 1980. For many years, she was an active member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in Danville. Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Downing; brothers, George Cunningham and Charles Cunningham of Louisville; and sisters, Elizabeth Curry, of Atlanta, GA, and Ella Krueger of Rockport, IN. She is survived by her brother, Will Cunningham and his wife Louise; sister-in-law, Ann H. Cunningham, all of Louisville; sister-in-law, Lucille Marshall, of Lexington, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express appreciation to the caregivers in Danville who provided services to Mrs. Downing for several years. The funeral service will be held at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, on Saturday at 10 a.m. The family will greet visitors in the chapel at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway.
