GIVIDEN, GLADYS, 85, was born December 30, 1925 to the late Joseph Alford and Elizabeth Viola Graves in Springfield, KY and returned to her Heavenly Father May 16, 2011.
Mrs. Gividen was a beloved mother, Wife and grandmother whose love, generosity and kindness touched all she met. She was a devoted Catholic, a member of Saint Lawrence Church, and a graduate of Ursuline Academy. Her life was full of days long to be remembered. Her interests centered around her family and friends.
Among those who preceded her in death include her parents; husband, Roy William Gividen; sister, Helen Graves.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Roy Alan , Paul Edward and his wife Sheila, Thomas Arthur and his companion Kim Abell, and Helen Shelon Gividen; sister, Bonnie Frazier; brother, Joseph Graves; grandchildren, Tammy McCollum, Brandy Andrade, Apryl Hall, Eric Gividen, Elizabeth Gividen and Miranda Miller; great grand-children, Stephanie Hensley, Ethan Hilpp-Gividen, Brayden Hall and Kyah Andrade; a host of other family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Dr., with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road).
