Mary H. Graham

Mary H. "Nana" Graham, 97, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on May 23, 1927, to John and Lena Copelin, Mary was a beacon of warmth and love throughout her long and fulfilling life. 

A devoted wife, mother, and Nana, Mary as the heart of her family. Her open arms and nurturing spirit made everyone who knew her feel like they were a part of something special. Mary’s compassion extended beyond her family; she had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel welcomed and cared for. 

Her work ethic was as strong as her heart. Mary ran the family-owned Bill Rowland Dry Cleaners until the age of 84, demonstrating dedication and perseverance that inspired those around her. Her culinary skills were unmatched, as she delighted in preparing home-cooked meals and grand holiday feasts that brought joy and comfort to her loved ones. 

Mary’s vibrant spirit was evident in her hobbies and passions. She found solace in gardening, particularly tending to her roses, and enjoyed listening to her favorite country music, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Her commitment to her faith was reflected in her active participation at Mosaic United Methodist Church, and she treasured her involvement with the Eastern Star Lodge. 

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and an enduring example of how to live life with grace and generosity. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. 

Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Brodie Graham; daughter, Martha Pysher; granddaughter, Stephanie Ashby; and 3 siblings; Elmo Copelin, Ray Copelin, and Susan Fields. 

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her son, Gary Graham (Nancy); her devoted grandchildren, Rhonda Quaack (Mark), Jeff Graham (Tammy), and Jennifer Dixon (Darrell); and her great-grandchildren, Keira, Ethan, Nathan, Caeley, Lilly, Liam, Chase, and Casen. Her joy and love also extended to her great-great-grandchildren, Braelynn and Summer, who were blessings in her later years. 

A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Graham will be held at 2 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM; and prior to the funeral service from 12 PM to 2 PM, at the funeral home. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Cemetery will follow the funeral service. 

Mary will be remembered as a caring matriarch who left a profound impact on all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
