SHIVELY, MARY "ALICE," 88, formerly of Louisville, passed from this life on Friday August 19, 2011 in Glen Carbon, IL, at the Meridian Village Retirement Community. She was the former Mary Bland, a member of Mary Queen of Peace (St. Helen) Catholic Church, where she was the school cafeteria manager in the 1960s, then cafeteria manager at several JCPS schools. She retired from the Jefferson County Public School System.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Shively, whom she married in 1944; her parents, James and Bonnie Bland; and a brother, James Bland.
She is survived by her children, Melinda Hutti (Steve), Keith Shively and Audrey Shively; sisters, Rita Dettlinger and Dorthea Long; sisters-in-law, Jean Hunter (Aubrey) and Betty Shively; grandchildren, Angela Hutti (Glen Coulson) and Rob Hutti (Tiffany); several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Bob Gatermann.
A Mass of celebration for Mrs. Shively will be held at Mary Queen of Peace (St. Helen Campus), 4005 Dixie Hwy. on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd.
