Mary Virginia "Sissy" Wilkins, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born on January 6, 1938, to James and Margaret Clark in Big Clifty, Kentucky.

Sissy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her life was a testament to her love for her family and her unwavering faith. A longtime member of Southeast Christian Church, she was a woman of deep Christian conviction and dedicated service. Sissy's spirit was defined by her feisty nature, sassy personality, and a constant energy that made her a beloved presence wherever she went.

Known for being a busybody always on the go, she was never one to sit still. Sissy was always impeccably put together, with a sense of style that reflected her vibrant and outgoing personality. She was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was babysitting the little ones in her life or offering a kind word of encouragement. Her generosity and compassion were felt by all who knew her.

In her spare time, Sissy enjoyed traveling to beautiful places like Alaska and Europe, where she made unforgettable memories. She was a passionate reader and loved listening to gospel music, especially songs by Josh Groban and Elvis Presley, which brought her great comfort and joy.

Sissy's family and friends will forever cherish her warmth, humor, and unshakable faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faithfulness that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bert Wilkins; parents, James Clark and Margaret Lush Clark; 2 brothers, Charlie Clark, and Garry Clark; and a sister, Carol Chesire.

Left to cherish her memory, Virginia is survived by 3 children, Kim Davis, Scot Wilkins, and Gayle Clayton (Joe); 5 grandchildren, Kourtney Brown (Jonathan), Kara Davis, Dustin Simcoe (Nicki), Cody Wilkins, and Hayley Carbone (Adam); 4 great-grandchildren, AJ Simcoe, Mackinleigh Simcoe, Jemma Brown, and Joanna Carbone; great-great-grandchild, Amari Simcoe; 5 siblings, Jimmy Clark (Lola), Roger Clark (Judy), Manuel Clark (Sandy), Joyce Keen, and Karen Meyers; and a host of extended family and close friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Virginia Wilkins will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West will follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in honor of Virginia. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
