Matthew Dennis

Matthew Paul Dennis, 45, of Lumberton, died Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on June 2, 1975, to Beverly Pearce Dennis and Timothy Ryan Dennis, in Louisville, Kentucky, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force proudly serving for 16 years. Matthew worked as a turbine mechanic for Cheniere LNG and he was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and kayaking. He was an avid football fan, having been a star player in high school.

Survivors include his mother, Beverly Ann Murray of Louisville, Kentucky; son, Matthew Connor Dennis; fiancé, Jennifer Lynn Barroeta; and stepchildren, Michael Alexander Barroeta and Daniela Nicole Barroeta, all of Lumberton; brothers, Tony Dennis and his wife, Kathy and Scott Dennis; and sister, Samantha Murray, all of Louisville, Kentucky.

He is preceded in death by his father, Timothy Dennis.

A gathering of Mr. Dennis’ family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Memorial Gardens Drive, Louisville, Kentucky.

His cremation will be handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
