He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Connie Bishop; children, Melvin Bishop Jr. (Tina), Rebecca Schmetzer, Richard Murray III and Michael "Joey" Bishop; three brothers; six sisters; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral: noon Tuesday at Arch L. Heady-Russman & Sons, with burial following at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: noon-8 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday
