Michael Langford

LANGFORD, MICHAEL JOHN, passed away at his home Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

He was a steel fabrication production assistant at Carman Industries for 43 years. For many years he also delivered flowers for Victor Mathis Florist. He was a native of Jeffersonville, IN, where he attended St. Augustine Catholic School and graduated from Jeffersonville High School. Mike was an Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion, Shawnee Post 193.

He lived in Shively and was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church where he enjoyed working the gate at football and basketball games for many years. He was a gentle soul with a definite point of view whose smile lit up a room and who never met a stranger. Mike was a proud and devoted father and an avid U of L Cardinal and Cincinnati Reds fan.

He is predeceased by his parents, Norman G. Langford, Sr. and Mary Edna Langford and an older brother, Norman G. Langford, Jr.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Ann Chilton Langford; his daughter, Jaime Lynne; and son, Michael Edward; his two sisters, Mary Beth (Brad) Cannon and Pam Canter; three brothers, Dennis D. (Laurie) Langford, Rev. Fr. Terry L. Langford and Pat (Laura) Langford; and his beloved mother-in-law, Joanne Chilton. He had 17 nieces and nephews and five great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Ratterman Grand Chapels, 4832 Cane Run Road on Friday, 2 -8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, St. Denis Campus, 4205 Cane Run Road.
