Mildred Bernice Drechsel "Millie" (Hayes) Share E-mail Visit Guest Book DRECHSEL, MILDRED "MILLIE" BERNICE (HAYES), 71, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Norton Hospice to join her adored husband, Lance.
Millie was a skillful waitress for most of her adult life. It was once written in the CJ that "Millie could call you hon or babe faster than Flo could tell you to kiss her grits!" Many of Millie's dining patrons became treasured friends. She commandeered the dining room of Eddie's Seafood House, Toohey's and Chef Oscars. Millie grudgingly retired (kicking and screaming) in her late sixties.
Millie is tenderly survived by son, Gary D. Drechsel, owner/ publisher, Bearhead Publishing LLC; daughter, Dana R. Stout, professional software consultant and president of DC2 Consulting Inc.; daughter-in-law Mary C. Drechsel (author Sissy Marlyn); son-in-law, Duane E. Stout, VP or DC2 Consulting Inc.; and most importantly, two beloved twin grandsons, Colbey Marshall and Carson Lance Stout; and lastly, her half sister, Brenda Faye Ballman.
Services celebrating Millie's life will be 11 a.m. Friday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy. Family and friends may visit Thursday, 2-8 p.m. and 9-11 a.m. prior to service on Friday.
